Our Mission
Friends of American Engineering and Science(AES), is a non-profit charity, 501C3. Our mission is to help develop the next generation of real world problem solvers, engineers and scientists. Our mission is achieved by making Science, Technology, Engineering and Science (STEM) hands-on activities available and accessible to underserved and underrepresented youth, Grades K-12. AES STEM programs offered are:
S.T.E.M Saturday ▪ S.T.E.M Summer Camp ▪ S.T.E.M Internships, held in Atlantic City NJ.
Our Technical staff of junior engineers & interns are knowledgeable and experienced in 21st Century STEM Technologies, and STEM instruction of youth in Grades K-12. Our STEM knowledge base consists of coaches majoring in Physics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Civil Engineering, Environmental, Business Technology, Mathematics, Economics, Computational Mathematics etc.

Our Founder
Dr. Basilyn Bunting is a Certified Systems Engineering Professional and Certified Robotics Instructor who founded Friends of American Engineering and Science in February 2011. She has a passion for educating the youth about the world of STEM.
As an Atlantic City native, she graduated from Atlantic City High School before furthering her education at Atlantic Cape Community College. There, she acquired her Associate’s Degree in Mathematics and Science. Dr. Bunting then attended Stockton University where she earned two Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemistry and Computer Science. She decided to get her Master’s degree in Executive Engineering from the esteemed University of Pennsylvania. Finally, she obtained her PhD Systems Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology.
Dr. Bunting landed a career at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and became a Chief Systems Engineer. After an astounding 30 years of experience, she retired from the Federal Government. She now dedicates her time to running STEM programs for the youth.

Your “Tax Exempt” Donations Create Socio-Economic Change in our Communities
We accept donations, and sponsorships. Your donations goes towards the hiring of, local area youth, in pursuit of STEM majors, as Jr Engineers. Your sponsorships help make STEM accessible, and available to youth who are in financial need.
